Our Vision.
At the very tip of mainland UK, where rugged cliffs give way to endless horizons, Polbrean House is preparing for a new chapter.
We're currently restoring and reimagining this historic house as a special place to stay for walkers, nature lovers, creatives and curious explorers seeking a slower pace of life.
Our vision is simple: to create a house that feels both restorative and inspiring. A place where days spent exploring the coast give way to shared suppers, cosy surroundings and the slower rhythms of life by the sea.
For many years, Polbrean House has welcomed travellers exploring this remarkable corner of Cornwall. Our aim is to honour that spirit while creating a characterful coastal retreat inspired by the house's artistic heritage, its extraordinary setting and the simple pleasures of time spent together.
The House.
Polbrean House will offer eight individually characterful bedrooms, including double, twin and family rooms.
At its heart will be a large communal living and dining space designed for gathering, reading, planning adventures, sharing meals and simply unwinding after a day outdoors.
Outside, guests will find a wonderful south facing garden to enjoy the fresh sea air and sea views, while the South West Coast Path, Lizard Point and the dramatic coastline of the Lizard Peninsula lie just moments from the garden gate.
We're fortunate to be surrounded by an exceptional natural environment, cared for by the National Trust and shaped by generations before us.
Whether you're here to walk the coast path, watch wildlife, swim in hidden coves, spend time with family or simply enjoy being close to the sea, we hope Polbrean House becomes a base for meaningful experiences together.
Inspired by Place.
Polbrean House has a rich history. Originally built for an artist, creativity remains an important part of the story we hope to continue.
The house itself inspires much of our vision: thoughtful interiors, local art, books, natural materials and spaces designed for relaxation as much as adventure.
We're drawing inspiration from artist residences, coastal lodges and mountain refuges, creating somewhere comfortable, relaxed and full of character rather than formal or overly polished.
Over the coming months we'll be sharing updates as the house evolves, including renovation progress, stories from Polbrean's history, local recommendations and details of how to book.
We're looking forward to welcoming our first guests in August 2026. If you'd like to be among the first to hear about availability and opening offers, we'd love you to join our mailing list.
